DERVENI bronze crater with dionysian scenes, unique in
the history of art .
Tombs at Derveni, a necropole of Ancient Lete (They contained
male and female cremations and burials with rich offerings, dated
to the last quarter of the 4th century BC. The offerings were
luxurious metal, clay and glass vases, gold jewellery, iron weapons
and bronze strigilis.
The Gold Of Macedons - The use of gold in jewellery, decoration
and coinage as well as the technology of gold-mining and gold-working
in ancient Macedonia. Gold objects - like the ivy wreath from
Sevasti, the diadem from Sedes and the bracelet from Europos -
are accompanied by other works of the famous Macedonian metalsmiths
- among them the Derveni krater - as well as luxury funerary gifts
to members of the Macedonian aristocracy.
